Thank you for the Check-In & Review, Mattress Capital Shallotte!
️️“Jay Boulter from the Brunswick County Homeless Coalition visited to explore ways to support a young couple facing extraordinary challenges. I invited Jay to return on Friday, ensuring the couple would have a safe haven that night. It’s heartening to see organizations like BCHC, which operates with limited resources, yet is fueled by compassionate individuals dedicated to uplifting those struggling in our rapidly growing county. Notably, one of our valued customers has recently upgraded to the latest Tempurpedic model, and generously passed on their gently used bed, which still has a decade of life left. This act not only benefits those in need but also reduces waste in our landfill. The next time you’re organizing your attic and planning a trip to the consignment shop, consider contacting Jay BCHC to explore ways to make a meaningful impact”

DID YOU KNOW?!
Brunswick County Homeless Coalition’s very own Jay Boulter hand delivers Street and House boxes full of food to those in need! Thank you Jay for all your hard work and effort in serving our community.
In 2025 74 house boxes were delivered. A house box is set up for families that have a kitchen available.
This year 59 street boxes were delivered. A street box is set up for those who do not have a kitchen and are supplied with ready to eat meals and often camping utensils.
The boxes all try to cover the 5 major food groups and 1 street box can save someone or be equivalent to $60-$80 dollars in groceries.
Pictured below you can see a replica of how many house boxes went out this year! You can also get an idea of the content and size of each box.
Once again a HUGE thank you to Jay Boulter for consistently getting these boxes out to those in need.

Betsy Duarte of BCHC received a large bounty of socks donated from Karen Beaty from The Ladies of The Holden Beach Chapel. Thank you so much for your generous and “warm” donation!!

A big THANK YOU to Kathy Grochowski and Robin Rauscher of Lockwood Folly POA and all who participated. Kathy and Robin presented BCHC with a check for $735.00-the proceeds of their “Socks N Shots” fundraiser from earlier this November.

Betsy Duarte and Dawn Craven from the Brunswick County Homeless Coalition had a blast participating in the St. James Service Club’s Festival of Trees! This event took place on Thursday December 4th & Friday December 5th 2025.
The Festival is a beloved holiday tradition featuring beautifully decorated trees, festive displays, live demonstrations, and favorites like the Sleigh Café, Season of Hope Bakery, silent auction, and raffles—with all proceeds supporting Brunswick County non-profits.
The Brunswick County Homeless Coalition would like to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to the St. James Service Club for their support and for hosting such a wonderful holiday event.
